For the 3rd year in a row, we are proud to be a sponsor of the Kentucky Bourbon Festival. This year, while a lot of things with the event have changed, our support for the event and their mission remains the same.
If you are wondering how we, as a construction company from Southern Indiana, got involved with the Kentucky Bourbon Festival, here’s the short version of the story. In 2016 we were asked to install some Fall Protection systems at Jim Beam, followed by some remediation work in one of their rickhouses. Our work continued to rapidly grow with Jim Beam and other distilleries in the area, therefore so did our team. We quickly established a Remediation team of 20+ employees, most of them being from the Bardstown, KY area. Then at the request of distilleries to “come up with a better mousetrap” we began several months of research and development and created K-RAX Premium Spirits Barrel Storage Systems. Each year we became more and more involved in the bourbon industry so we decided we wanted to give back to the community that has helped us grow so much. This is where the Kentucky Bourbon Festival came in…and here we are today!
We are very excited about the lineup of virtual events taking place in a few weeks and are so glad to be a part of it this year! Check out the “Art of Whiskey Making, Part 4, Rickhouses” event where our President, Bob Koetter Jr., joins Buzick Construction in a discussion about how rickhouses affect the bourbon aging process. If you’re interested – sign up, grab a drink and enjoy!
Cheers,
The Koetter Group
