The Koetter Group is proud to announce our collaboration with RD1 Spirits on their new immersive brand destination in the heart of Lexington, Kentucky.
While best known for our K-RAX® Barrel Storage Rickhouse systems, this project called for a different kind of expertise—a visually striking, visitor-focused display that showcases the craft of bourbon. The centerpiece, a 240-barrel K-RAX® installation, combines aesthetic design with the same attention to structural integrity and safety that defines our rickhouse systems.
RD1 Spirits’ expanded brand campus, officially opened in May 2025, offers guests a first-of-its-kind experience featuring a modern tasting room, interactive bourbon and wood-finished displays, and a hands-on R&D distillery for exploring unique wood-aging techniques. The K-RAX® system supports this experience by providing a safe, durable, and visually impactful structure that highlights the bourbon-aging process for visitors.
For The Koetter Group, this project highlights how K-RAX® systems can be adapted to showcase bourbon craftsmanship in ways that go beyond traditional storage—creating spaces that are both functional and experiential. We are proud to bring the same engineering standards, focus on safety, and commitment to innovation to a space that educates, inspires, and connects visitors with Kentucky’s bourbon heritage.
