The Koetter Group is proud to announce our partnership with Whiskey House of Kentucky in the construction of twelve state-of-the-art KRAX rickhouses, designed to support what will become one of the most advanced and fully automated distillery operations in the nation.
Located on a 176-acre campus in Elizabethtown, the new facility will feature a capacity to distill more than one million barrels annually, with Koetter leading the design and build of the critical rickhouse infrastructure.
The Whiskey House campus broke ground in July 2023 and is on track to become a cornerstone of Kentucky’s next-generation bourbon production. Central to that vision is the use of KRAX—an innovative steel rickhouse system engineered for strength, airflow, and safety. With years of experience delivering structural excellence for the spirits industry, The Koetter Group brings both precision and scale to the ambitious twelve-rickhouse project.
The KRAX system allows for faster build timelines, reduced maintenance costs, and the structural integrity required for consistent aging at scale. Designed to be scalable and compliant, these rickhouses are optimized for automated operations without sacrificing the traditional bourbon-aging process.
Whiskey House of Kentucky is led by industry veterans including co-founder and CEO Peter J. Loftin, who envisioned the facility as a full-service, contract whiskey production house built for the 21st century. With a focus on quality, innovation, and long-term partnerships, Whiskey House is positioned to serve a global client base—and Koetter is honored to be part of the foundation, both literally and figuratively.
As bourbon demand grows worldwide, we’re proud to play a part in helping Kentucky’s signature industry build for the future.
